BEFORE YOU COME
PARTICIPANTS NEED TO HAVE –

Attended a ‘Guide the Canyon’

Attended a‘River Rescue for Canyons’ course

OR attended an Outdoor Education certificate course then attended a 'Learn to Canyon'course

OR hold a current swift water rescue course certificate

CANYONING GEAR
YOU NEED TO BRING –

Climbing or whitewater helmet

Life jacket – whitewater style

Neoprene socks

Neoprene hat

4-5 mm wetsuit

Suitable canyoning footwear

Harness with:
– 2 cows tails (lanyards, daisy chains)
– figure-8 descenders X2
– suitable ascenders
– 3 locking carabiners to go with the above
– ideally the harness has a pvc seat

Suitable 40 litre canyon pack
For this course we encourage participants to bring their own equipment.
